Gender Informed Care in MS

The UCSF Multiple Sclerosis Center is proud to present a new initiative to provide up-to-date Gender Informed Care in MS. Through this initiative, UCSF MS Faculty are providing an evening Patient Education Seminar Series to discuss current approaches to care on a variety of gender-based topics. Central recurring topics include guiding women with MS through a pregnancy or menopause.

With the right care, most women with multiple sclerosis can achieve their goals of a safe and healthy pregnancy. Join us as Dr. Riley Bove helps us understand how best to prepare for a pregnancy. This will include whether to keep or stop medications, whether to breastfeed, and common medical and emotional considerations for MS women in the postpartum period.

MENOPAUSE. Living well with MS: Management during menopause and beyond
Monday, December 12, 2022 | 5:30 – 6:30 PM

The challenges of living with MS can be compounded by menopause symptoms (like hot flashes, or changes in mood or bladder function), changes in family or work structure, and sometimes progression of MS. This is a great time to reevaluate MS care in the context of a woman’s journey. Join us as Dr. Riley Bove discusses whole-person approaches to wellness during menopause and beyond.
